We are privileged to be dealing with the sale of a relatively recent Starlight 39, being 39 041, built 1998, which has been blessed with only two very careful owners and is in superb condition - Mk 2 Bowman build and fully CE compliant.
Encore is fitted with the deep fin keel and has the reliable Yanmar 40hp engine.
Electronics are fully updated, networked and repeated at helm.
Parker and Kay sails in good condition, standing rig 2014, self-tail Lewmar 54s and all sail controls led aft.
Interior is sumptuous with l.e.d. conversion (including nav lights), Isotherm ASU fridge, recent luxury upholstery, diesel heating, holding tank.

Owner comments

Encore had a full Survey in 2006, and was found to be good condition. I have refurbished and maintained her to the best of my ability throughout the time that she has been in my ownership.

The main findings on the 2006 Survey were related to flaking anti-foul, and minor maintenance outstanding relating to the first owner's health.

During our ownership we have never failed to love this boat. We have been taken to the Baltic, around Ireland and to the west of Scotland, Pottered around the coast of Southern England, northern France and the Channel Islands. We have always sailed in great safety and comfort. She is a wonderful boat and we will miss her very much.

The Starlight 39, designed by Stephen Jones, is generally reckoned to be one of the all time great designs for a cruising yacht. She has the knack of being stiff in a blow but sails well in light winds. She points high with her fin keel and is completely balanced.

The Mark II contains modifications to ensure that the yacht is CE compliant, stipulating all metal skin fittings, more stanchions, 2 bilge pumps, labelled wiring and a natty little wire across the pulpit.

Dick Durham, when sailing Encore for the Yachting Monthly 'used boat test' series, thought that she was brilliant and gave her the highest score over and above any other yacht at that time.

Encore, as you will have read, is extremely comprehensively fitted out, with best specification and fittings that can be found.

Reason for selling - I am going into a boat-share with a friend and we are moving up to a slightly bigger boat. Encore is very much 'ready to go and is maintained and serviced in every way.

General condition - Encore is in very good condition inside and out. The ongoing programme of upgrades and replacements can be seen everywhere. Her systems, rig accommodation and accessories are all in first class working order. Just add water.....
